Importer Registration & Licensing: Importers must be validly registered with the South African Revenue Service (SARS), obtain an importer code, and maintain a sound customs compliance status.
Customs Duties: Determined by HS Code and relevant ITAC policies. South Africa is a member of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU), which applies a common external tariff. Assistance is available for applying for preferential certificates of origin.
